At UTL, we see it as our job to take a balanced and intelligent view of the available technologies on behalf of you, our client.  There is a lot of hype around wireless networking at present, but, whilst there is no doubt about its potential, and we appreciate its benefits in certain situations, we believe that it is not yet an appropriate, secure and reliable standalone solution for a company network.

We believe that there are a number of situations in which wireless networking may be usefully applied – such as rest areas where ad hoc network connectivity may be useful, or ‘hot desks’ where an instant connection is beneficial.

UTL will always look at the available and appropriate network choices in order to increase efficiency and cost savings on your behalf.

Laser links can offer a cost effective and secure inter building links, particularly where roads run between buildings, however they do require a direct line of site so trees or the landscape can cause problems.
